Ways To Ask
Fundrazr Website & Emails
When you register for a Walk for the Future walk, you are set up with your own FundRazr personal fundraising page, which can be linked to a team page if you are part of a team. Here you can:
In PersonIn fundraising, one of the most effective ways to ask for a donation is to ask in person. Your chances of actually getting a donation are greatly enhanced by making a request face-to-face. It is hardest to say “no” to someone’s face, especially a face with a smile.
Phone CallsPhone calls are a great way to ask family members and close friends who don’t live near you to donate. You can also reach out to local businesses over the phone as well.
Letter WritingA letter writing campaign can be just as personal as a face-to-face ask, and is a great alternative to phone calls to those who are far away. Tell your personal story: why are you walking and why is this cause so important to you? Once you’ve written your letter, make as many copies of it as you need and send it out to everyone you know. Some ideas of to whom you can send letters include: Parents / Grandparents / Cousin / Aunt / Uncle / Friends / Co-Workers / Dry Cleaner / Decorator / Church or Synagogue Members / Coach / Contractor / Banker / Local Businesses / Roommates / Doctor / Dentist / Neurologist / Teacher /
Social Media Outreach
One of the best ways to spread the word about your participation in a Walk for the Future is to use social media. Share why you are walking and a link to your FundRazr page on Facebook. Tweet for more donations. Blog about your experience as a walker on Tumblr. Post your walk fundraising skills and experience on LinkedIn. Create a widget for your Fundrazr page. Below are some specific tips to maximize your participant and team fundraising efforts through Facebook and Twitter.
When it comes to Facebook, make sure you:
